What’s an ideal family? An ideal relationship? Does the word ‘ideal’ really fit the
puzzle of relationships? Actually whatever is the real state of a
relation is determined by the feelings that two or more people share within the relationship. And there is no description of what a family should look like or feel like. Unfortunately for ages we have tried to find a very suited perceptive idea of family and have visualised the same from a balanced gender perspective.

Thankfully some have realised on time that the balance is solely dependent on feelings and have begun visualising relationships without the gender tags. Director Mainak Bhowmik scrapbooks such sans gender motivation, family photos in his film ‘Family Album’.
Aatrika (Paoli Dam) is that girl in whom Moitreyee (Swastika Mukherjee) finds her man. A shy woman, she portrays and behaves as the most obedient girl next door. While Paoli is tomboyish and perfectly masculine in her ways. It is their love that blooms in Family Album.
Even though the love and chemistry between Paoli & Swastika is seen as the central base for the album, but the pages of the album are filled with images of other relationships and little stories. Commitment, love, inner feelings and of course a strong bond is what this album binds together from the front to the back cover.
Swastika Mukherjee has once again proved that she belongs to a superiorly different league when it comes to acting. Paoli has left a man far behind, by justifying her pairing with swastika. Their chemistry is bold, natural and beautiful. Their smiles will melt your heart and they are so beautifully significant together that they are bound to make you feel the love they share on screen.
Definitely a film for the family. But don’t watch Family Album if you feel relationships has to always follow a man-woman structure.
